JOURNAL [2012]

20 cm x 13 cm x 5 cm | 8” x 5” x 2”

Screen printing with textile pigments, dyeing with reactive dyes, hand embroidery with silk and metallic thread, crochet with cotton yarn, painting with acrylic paints on found paper, cotton canvas, pima cotton, rayon challis, and silk organza.

This textile object was created with the idea of using it for recording events that occur throughout time. A few pages contain information, but the majority of them are intentionally left empty. The pristine surface of these empty pages is open to endless possibilities. There are stories to be written, and this offers the setting for them to exist. Now and then embroidered interventions are altering the pages and build the narrative.
